Slight. Ever so slight.
I do think a bit about work nowadays. That is, however, the extent of me wanting to get back into the saddle. And I have no idea what I would say in an interview if they said, "So...this hole in your work history from October 2022 to...now. Can you explain that?"
Um...nope. Not at this point, at least.
There's just more and more that's dystopian in the news nowadays. People say I should read Trump's indictment to get a full grasp of the enormity of his crimes. May not be a bad idea. In the meantime, reading Crazy Rich Asians checks off my light summer reading quota.
Also, my weight has begun moving upward again. I'm up 15 pounds since the beginning of the year. We'll see how this works. I've felt a bit more comfortable doing this since my liver numbers were so good at the beginning of the year. No malaise so far. But not bombarding myself with donuts like I did in February is probably wise, too. What's been contributing to it?
- Brewer's yeast...maybe. I've noticed in the past it helps boost the appetite, though I haven't seen that this time. But it's full of good B vitamins from a natural source, so...why not?
- Bigger bowls for meals. I have H Mart to thank for that. If I want to gorge myself on coconut rice and Hawaiian chicken, chili mac, or massive amounts of ramen, I now have bowls that can accommodate all that. Ever since breaking the beautiful so-called eating bowl I got in Portland over 20 years ago, I'd felt a void in my kitchen. I now have nine bowls that help fill it. And fill my belly.
- Tiki drinks. I mean, alcohol doesn't help reduce. It's got lots of calories, and I've noticed it boosts my appetite, partly because of its effect on insulin. So I eat more comfortably.
