Write a story about your favorite dessert...from the dessert's point of view.
So before I jump into this random topic, I will say that I was inspired to do this just to sharpen my quill. Can't hurt my career to do so, right? I don't write much and don't read much...well, at least from a book perspective. Having gotten into Crazy Rich Asians lately and its sequels definitely has changed that a bit, even if just for those books. And I've considered random writing prompts to be a good way to jump in. (I'll post the link on the sidebar.) So here we go!
Chocolate Mousse Pie
God, it takes a lot to make me as fabulous and smooth as I am. Decadent, rich, sinful...I treasure these words and how they keep coming up in my presence. The moans and pregnant moments of silence while I tickle the tongues and fill the mouths of all who enjoy me are heaven to me. But also...expected.
I mean, chocolate mousse? Hello? First off, I'm based in what is universally considered the best sweet out there. It's my first name. Hours of preparation and production go into making me. And that's just for the beginning: the basic, workaday chocolate chip. Pour scores of these into a double boiler, and let me melt as you stir me into a silky thick gelée. Whisk in a room-temperature egg and an extra yolk and watch me suddenly take on a sensational satin gloss. Add a dash of rum to up the adult factor...I ain't no kid's birthday cake. Then add some pre-whipped cream and a frothy whipped egg white and watch me lighten up and become the centerpiece of dessert.
But this voluptuous body needs some coating. Let some more whipped cream take care of that. And a delicious cinnamon graham cracker crust grounds me and spices me up. I'm not naughty. I'm just made that way.
